Moles are a common aesthetic concern. While the majority of moles (or naevi) are benign, they can become larger with time or even be at risk of developing cancerous changes. It is important to undertake a thorough skin check with a GP or dermatologist if you are concerned.

Eastern Plastic Surgery recommends consulting with a GP and organising a referral before having a consultation with Mr Frank Lin regarding your mole. At your consultation, Mr Lin will assess whether your mole is suitable for one of the excision treatments that we offer.

Depending on the nature and size of the mole, different techniques can be used to treat it.

  1. Surgical removal
  2. Shave excision
  3. Diathermy ablation
  4. Laser treatment

Most of these can be performed under local anaesthetic as an in-rooms procedure. If multiple removals are necessary, the procedure can be performed in the operating theatre under light sedation.

*Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
